PLAYMATHS

– Nurturing the active young minds –

BACKGROUND
I am an ex-early childhood educator. I am trained in Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (RTRC Asia & Wheelock College), and have been working with preschoolers since 1996. I am now inviting preschoolers to join my home-based Math programme.

PHILOSOPHY
I strongly believe that children are active learners who learn best when they are engaged in learning that they are interested in.

PROGRAMME OUTLINE
PlayMaths is an activity-based programme specially designed for children 5 to 6 years. Children will explore mathematical concepts through hands-on, inquiry- based activities using manipulatives, stories, songs and games.

Its goal is to arouse curiosity and interest in learning Math so as to lay a strong foundation for more complex and abstract mathematical learning in future.

Activities are conducted in small group basis to encourage peer learning and self-motivation as social interaction is important in the process of knowledge acquisition.
